The Jordal Amfi stadium was built in 1951 for the 1952 Winter Olympics. A roof was added in 1967. This was the main arena for the ice hockey and figure skating competitions. Since then it has been the main arena for the ice hockey World Championships in 1958, 1989 and 1999.
